5 hours of sleep woo! Websites like this and Flickr tend to frustrate me more than anything I've found. More and more I'm seeing terrible photoshop jobs, boring images, or just, porn. I feel like truly creative works are almost non-existant on the internet anymore. Facebook in particular is just, disease ridden with shitty Photoshoppings and comments like "omg i luv this so much its so cool" and I can only reply with "no it's not, you put the cutout filter on it, default settings, gtfo."

Maybe I'm just bitter. Maybe I hold a more strict definition of "art" than some people. Maybe my shit is just the same as what I'm complaining about. But god damn at least I know that PS filters aren't art, that naked people aren't art just because they're naked, and that pictures of pets get boring.

Fairly simple person. I love music I can sing or dance to. I love movies that make me laugh, cry, or jump. I like taking pictures. I like taking pictures of people performing acts of spontaneity as well as staged.

The hardest part of being an artist to me? Self-confidence. Since middle school the hardest part of being an artist is believing in your own work. It's something I'm working on as I grow and learn.

I'm 21, live in the mid-Atlantic region and hope one day to road trip my way across the country, taking photos, and settling somewhere I have never seen before.

I did at one point but the lack of a good camera has somewhat dulled that idea. I'm looking at getting a Canon Rebel XTi so after that, more stuff should be up here.
